Hey there! I’m Nicolas Candelaria

a designer based in Vancouver

I always thought I would be a developer. I went to UBC for engineering but during the Covid-19 pandemic, I burnt out and decided to pursue front-end web development at BCIT.

My stint at BCIT introduced me to some design classes where I ultimately realized that I was truly passionate designing interfaces for web and mobile. I decided to switch my career trajectory into the design field and I am currently working at Lendus, a startup based in Toronto.

The variety of twists and turns in my journey has been the highlight of my life. I have been influenced by many fields and it has opened my mind to constantly look for problems and design solutions for them. Now, I support designers in the Vancouver Design Community and I write articles on Medium for other individuals looking for advice.
